The Last Flood?

My apartment has flooded again.

Thankfully, the flood occurred this morning a little before 10am, and it was contained to my brother’s bathroom and the hallway outside his bedroom (both areas that have tile rather than carpet). So all in all as far as flooding apartments go, it could have been worse.

Also, it was a lot easier to remain calm with the knowledge that we are outttttaaaa heeeeereeee. Later this afternoon, my brother and I are going to be signing our new lease, and although we were initially planning on moving to the new place at a leisurely pace over the next two weeks, we can, obviously, speed that process up if the need exists (which it now, thanks to the new flood, seemingly does).

Our new place is up in the base of the Hollywood Hills, a few blocks north of Hollywood Blvd. just west of the 101. I’m rather excited about moving to the new location — obviously we’ll be a lot closer to the “action” as opposed to the peaceful seclusion of the westside, so it should make for an interesting change of lifestyle (though presumably i’ll still spend the majority of my time in my apartment watching tv and writing — only now the option of going out will actually have more possibilities behind it for me to dismiss).

Anyways, as far as i’m concerned as long as the new place stays flood free (and since there’s nobody living on top of us this time - a big selling point, needless to say) we should be in decent shape.

Well…I suppose i’ll take my leave for now and go back to work and wait for the plumber/cleaning people to arrive…

ahh, there’s the phone ringing now.
